Hey friends,
I recently came across an inspiring post on Twitter discussing Elon Musk's remarkable ability to acquire knowledge in various fields. It highlights how he has become proficient in multiple domains by adopting an effective learning approach.
The idea is that many people have the potential to learn far more than they believe they can. However, they often impose limits on their own ability to learn and grow.
The advice provided is to perceive knowledge as a "semantic tree." In this context, a semantic tree represents a hierarchy of knowledge where the fundamental principles act as the trunk and branches, and the specific details or facts are the leaves.
By following this approach, you can build a solid understanding of the subject from the ground up. Starting with the foundational principles allows you to establish a strong base of knowledge, which makes it easier to grasp more complex concepts as you progress. It emphasizes the importance of mastering the fundamentals as they form the framework upon which deeper and more specialized knowledge can be built.
Consider the analogy of a person who specializes in building cars. Having expertise solely in car manufacturing won't automatically grant them the knowledge to build airplanes, rockets, or other advanced technologies. However, if they possess a broader understanding of engineering, electronics, physics, and design principles, their capabilities expand exponentially as they could build rockets, airplanes, brain chips etc.
Have a lovely week friends!
